A.S.D. TUFELLO COMBAT
The A.S.D. Tufello Combat was established in 2012 to provide a new model of sports practice accessible to all within an area of Rome lacking any form or project of youth aggregation. The gym and association aim to fit into the dense and fragmented fabric of the Tufello district, proposing themselves as a family place frequented by several generations, an open space, and a point of reference for the neighborhood. The association promotes values of solidarity, education, brotherhood, and mutual aid mechanisms, and has diversified its courses to cater to the athletes' proposals and the neighborhood's requests. The association's project has a multi-sport purpose, including Kickboxing, Full Contact, Karate, Kung Fu, Capoeira, Women's Artistic Gymnastics, and Pilates. In addition to amateur level courses, Kickboxing, Full Contact, Kung Fu, and Artistic Gymnastics are affiliated with their respective sports federations in the competitive sector.
With over 200 members among adults, teenagers, and children, the association has become an indispensable example of social welfare and a self-managed community. The A.S.D. Tufello Combat also collaborates actively with the Istituto Superiore Giordano Bruno, hosting the physical education lessons. Moreover, it has established relations with other associations in the area and other cities, including participation in international projects such as the Palermo-based Ciss N.G.O.'s "Boxing against the siege," a sports project dedicated to boxing based on an exchange between athletes and teachers training in the Gaza Strip.
A.P.S. ETNA
APS ETNA - Analytical Ethnopsychology Project is a Social Promotion Association specializing in adolescents and migrant people. The ETNA working group began its activity in 2006 with information and training activities and in 2007 promoted five information/training weekends on intercultural psychotherapy entitled "The new frontiers of care in a multicultural society," attended by national and international scholars. In 2008, it promoted a training course in Analytical Ethnopsychology lasting 11 weekends, which received 50 E.C.M. credits from the Ministry of Health. A contribution from the Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation partly financed the course. To participate in tenders promoted by public and private entities to obtain funding, the original working group was set up as a social promotion association on July 17, 2008.
Over the last ten years, ETNA has contacted schools and promoted psychological support and counseling desks in various schools. The association collaborates with physical education teachers to make the most of the gym hours as a moment of aggregation and developing a healthy relationship with one's body. Sport is of fundamental importance for a healthy and balanced life, and during adolescence, it can be of great help if exploited correctly.
